Martin Howard Furniture is based in Oswestry near Shrewsbury a market town in the beautiful county of Shropshire, between Wales and the West Midlands.
The business leans mainly towards contemporary design, offering interior and exterior ranges, including chairs, tables and shelves, fitted pieces, such as wardrobes and cabinets. We also produce larger work like the Garden Pod summer house.
Many of our clients take advantage of our bespoke commissioning service to adapt work already on offer or to create their own original design.
Each piece is individually hand made using the finest materials, many locally sourced, employing a mix of traditional cabinet making skills and up to the minute new technologies to produce beautiful, contemporary furniture.
Work is stocked in select UK galleries and exhibited at deign and craft shows throughout the year.

Outpost : Garden Pod
A contemporary summer house; an eco-hut; a garden room; a sleepover space; a modern gazebo.....welcome to the Garden Pod.
A beautiful addition to any outdoor environment, from small courtyard, garden or even woodland. Whether entertaining friends or just unwinding, the Garden Pod is a great, fresh, new outdoor space.
The Pod is delivered and erected by us on your site.
Materials
Our eco-friendly, handcrafted Pods use locally sourced, FSC timber from well-managed, renewable woodlands.
The seasoned Western Red Cedar cladding is a highly durable, attractive timber. It has a great resistance to decay and is oiled and protected against fungal and insect attack.
As strength is an important factor, marine plywood is sandwiched between the inner and outer layers of cladding. This gives great rigidy and strength it also creates a shadow line between the cladding strips while giving protection from wind and rain.
The roof of the Pod is covered in a single sheet of EPDM membrane and is 100% weather proof. We are increasingly being asked to incorporate 'living' or green roofs into our Pods. Attractive to look at and beneficial to wildlife, a sedum roof will also protect against UV rays.
Commissioning Work
Martin Howard Furniture aims to make the commissioning of a piece of furniture an easy, exciting and rewarding experience.
After initial contact, a meeting would ideally take place at the site of the proposed piece. This allows the environment to be taken into account in the design process.
Style, materials, function, dimensions, practicalities (plugs, switches, etc) will be discussed.
Drawings are prepared, and a second meeting arranged, where the design is discussed and if necessary any alterations made. An estimate of costs will be given.
A final design will be produced and a quote given in writing, with a projected time scale (usually 6 - 10 weeks from 'go ahead').
The client is required to pay a 1/3 deposit of the total price to secure the work, with the balance payable upon delivery and satisfactory completion of work.
