Condensation can cause lots of problems for dampness too, improving the ventilation should reduce the chance of dampness forming.
Damp proofing or DPC as it can be known as is a method used to prevent and stop areas becoming damp. Normally a treatment or damp proof injection is applied to a property which will fill up a space where the moisture is and soak it up and stop it occurring.
Many issues are caused by leaks as water is getting into the cavities of a building and being left there. The most common procedure we do is a damp proof injection. This is where we drill a hole into the outside bricks of a property, then insert the damp-proof injection which is an expanding foam and it soaks up the moisture. The foam rises to about a meter from the ground, since most of the problems are caused from the bottom part of a building.
Many people want to know the costs for this procedure but there is no set cost. It depends on a variety of things, such as the amount of dampness which needs to be removed, how big the building is and what type of treatment we are going to use. There will be cheaper people in surrounding areas who might say they can do this type of work but if you want to problem fixing correctly by a company who have experience, we suggest you use experts.
