Profile

A professional and understanding law firm with friendly and approachable staff all of whom aim to provide quality legal services from our offices in the centre of the busy market town of Rayleigh.

John Rudd founded the firm in 1933 from an office in Westcliff-on-Sea and was subsequently joined by Bill Davenport and Jack Moorfoot when the firm became Rudd Moorfoot and Davenport.

The firm acquired premises in Rayleigh in the late 1950s and moved to its present office in Rayleigh High Street in the 1960s. In 1993 in common with a number of Solicitors firms at that time it was decided to shorten our name and as we were always known locally as Rudds this was an automatic choice. In 2012 a number of factors came together including the availability of additional premises adjoining our existing office in Rayleigh which made it advantageous to amalgamate the two offices and for the firm to practice under one roof in Rayleigh High Street.
