Our approach to teaching and learning is unique and is based on our Opening Minds curriculum – a set of competences which challenge students in their ability to think, to learn, to manage people, information and situations. All of which will lead them towards being good citizens who are capable of influencing and changing the world in which they will live. Our curriculum is designed to meet the individual needs of all students, build on their strengths and improve their areas of development.
The competences are organised into 5 groups: Citizenship, Learning, Information, People and Situations; giving the acronym CLIPS.
Opening Minds was the RSA’s response to the challenges of the 21st century. The competences will enable young people to cope with a world which is changing constantly and rapidly, together with the challenges of ICT and of globalisation.
